Do I need a restroom trailer or porta potties for my wedding?

A wedding of up to about 100 guests can use deluxe flushing porta potties with a hand-washing station. A wedding of 100 to 200 guests is a good fit for a 2-stall or 3-stall restroom trailer, as long as the site has level ground, a 110V/20A outlet and a garden hose within reach.

How many restrooms does a 150-guest wedding need?

A 150-guest, 5-hour wedding with a bar needs 4 standard-size units under our planning chart: 3 base units plus 1 for alcohol. Make 1 of the 4 wheelchair-accessible. A 3-stall restroom trailer can replace the 3 non-accessible units when the venue has power and water.

Worked example: 150 guests × 5 hours ÷ 250 = 3 units. Alcohol adds 1 unit for every 4 base units, rounded up, so 3 + 1 = 4. Add 1 hand-washing station. Try your own numbers in the porta potty calculator.

What does a restroom trailer need at a wedding venue?

A restroom trailer needs 4 things on site: level ground, a straight truck path, a dedicated 110V/20A outlet within about 100 feet, and a garden hose connection. When the venue has no power, a quiet inverter generator can be added to the quote.

When should I book wedding restrooms?

Book wedding restrooms 2 to 4 months ahead for June through October Saturdays in New Hampshire, which is peak wedding and fall-foliage season. Restroom trailers book out first. Porta potties and hand-washing stations can often be added up to a week before.

Send the venue map early. Farm and barn venues often have soft fields, so the trailer spot should be on a lane or gravel pad the truck can reach in wet weather.

Questions people ask before booking

Can the restroom trailer be placed out of sight in photos?

A trailer can sit behind a tent, barn or tree line as long as the truck can back it in and the power and hose reach. Mark the spot on the venue map when you book.

Do your wedding units look nicer than construction units?

Wedding orders get event-grade units: clean exteriors, full stock and, for deluxe units, a flushing toilet and sink. Construction units stay on construction jobs.

Can someone service the trailer during a long reception?

Long receptions can add a mid-event restock. Ask when you book so the timing is planned with your coordinator.

Do we need an accessible unit for our wedding?

Any wedding with a guest who uses a wheelchair, walker or cane should have 1 wheelchair-accessible unit. Standard trailers have steps and do not serve wheelchair users.

What happens if it rains on the wedding day?

Restroom trailers and porta potties work in rain. Pick a spot on firm, raised ground so guests are not walking through puddles, and add a path light.
